Working with the project managers, Dalton Construction, Normerica supplied
and installed the heavy timber trusses & purlin roof system to replicate the
100 year old timbers that were destroyed in a fire December, 2009. The
trusses span 40 feet and were fitted into the existing structural pockets
and corbels within the church walls. Normerica collaborated with an
architectural historic consultant to design and reproduce the decorative
trusses and ceiling beams of the chancel ceiling, using only the aid of
pictures to confirm the fine detail. These 20 foot long identical trusses
were manufactured and constructed using cabinet quality joinery while
incorporating elaborate infill panels.
