CASCADE LODGE, MT. NORQUAY
Banff, Alberta
Like a mythical phoenix, Banff Mt. Norquay’s proud new
Cascade Lodge arose out of the ashes of a devastating fire
which destroyed this famous ski resort’s previous lodge in
December 1995. Normerica’s innovative design and modular
components allowed for the complete design and construction of
the structure within just 9 months (start to finish) and was ready
for the 1996/97 ski season. With 50 ft. ceilings and windows
reaching 30 ft. high overlooking the magnificent Rocky
Mountains, Cascade Lodge was voted “Best New Base Lodge”
for 1997 by Ski Canada Magazine. The 27,000 sq. ft. lodge
features 14,500 sq. ft. of cafeteria space on the first floor, with a
pub, restaurant and 170 seat capacity conference room on the
second floor.
