A Timber Frame home is considered eco-friendly or "Green" by its very nature. Wood is one of the only building materials in use today that is recyclable, biodegradable and renewable.

Design:

In the early 1980's, we developed our R24 Superwall Panel and began construction of energy efficient R-2000 homes.  

This rating ensures that your home is:

Normerica homes use no thermal bridging in its wall system or roof system. This means that our EPS (expanded polystyrene) insulation gives you the highest R-value for your money. As well, EPS contains no harmful CFCs, HCFCs or formaldehyde.

For even greater energy efficiency, we can increase the insulation value in the wall and roof systems of your Normerica home.

Normerica also incorporates the standards of the SuperE system endorsed by the Government of Canada and now used around the world. This technical standard is based on the "house as a system" philosophy of design and construction. It is your assurance that you are buying the finest homes available on the market today. Purchasing:

We purchase our wood products from members of the Sustainable Forest Initiative and practitioners of sustainable forestry practices.   Sustainable Forestry is based on the premise that wood and paper products can be produced while still protecting our forests for generations to come. They promote " environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of world's forests ."

Manufacturing:

In our manufacturing process any minimal waste that is produced is recycled into future building projects or recycled into other products. It is not sent to a landfill site.

Construction:

Our construction sites generate minimum waste on location, as the major Building package components have been pre-manufactured in our state-of-the-art production facility.
